The Goal: I want a date commitment from my manager for training in a product that
our company sells.
Actions: I visualise my conversation with him and him saying yes,
beginning of January you can go into training and move onto
the support team. I will speak to him on Thursday and he will say yes.
Yo ..
I publish this EMail as an excellent example of how the goal setting process works.
This reader has in mind a specific goal, and has written it down. In terms of the 'process'
of self improvement, SoCô¿ôL has stated and will continue to state that IF this is the only thing
one can do, has time to do, is willing to do, this act in and of itself is enough to improve the
probabilities of ACHIEVING THE GOAL.
This is not the ONLY step in the process, BUT if it is the only one you take the probabilities
will have improved.
Notice also HOW THAT WORKS.
This isn't necessarily the ONLY STEP this reader will and has taken to achieve his/her goal.
Remembering one other rule .. Do One More Good Thing .... this reader has also been reading
and or listening to the SoCô¿ôL Triangle of Success Microphone. What one more thing can I do
to improve those probabilities. He/she has chosen an ACTION .. a SKILL side action .. to visualize
his performance .. in advance of actually attempting to 'make it so.' He/she has done ONE MORE
GOOD THING to improve the probabilities of success .. AND .. chosen them in an EXCELLENT
ORDER. First .. state the goal .. Second .. visualize it's achievement.
Who knows .. between now and Thursday this reader may even come up with ONE or MORE
good things to improve the probabilities of success.
In addition, this reader will have learned the EXERCISE of operating The Triangle of Success
to achieve ones goals, AT LEAST ONCE. The results may be interpreted as GOOD or BAD but
the process will have begun. When this reader does this again and again and again .. this
reader will have developed a steadily improving process for ACHIEVING ALL THEIR GOALS ..
Some Additional Thoughts
This is also a good example of how human
relations plays an important part in the achievement of all our goals.
It is probable that the reason for setting the goal is that you know
what's 'in it for you.' The small difference in achievement may be
taking the extra time to consider .. what's "in it for yo'er boss.'
In what way would satisfying yo'er goals help him/her to achieve
theirs ? ...
This is also a good example of the benefits of communicaton and what happens
when we share our own efforts at personal growth. Your story has been helping
to motivate others NOW, and for approximately two years.
Good luck .. preparation meets opportunity ..
