Subject: My most memorable God experience
I have had more than one moment when the Most High God, the Lord Jesus
Christ, in whom all the fullness of the Godhead dwells bodily, has
spoken to me in an audible voice. The most memorable of these
experiences is shared below.
I had been raised as a Jehovah's Witness, and had left that
psudo-Christian Cult in 1979, at the age of 20. I became born again
while watching my first Billy Graham crusade in 1982 or '83. I was,
at the time, attending a little United Methodist Church.
The church had a split, and my Pastor had been moved to another
church. My husband and I had moved far enough away that I had no
intention of going to that little church which would never be the
same. So I was driving home one Friday night, and talking, out loud,
to God. I told Him that I didn't want to go to the Methodist Church
in my new town, and asked Him where He wanted me to go. He told me,
in a very clear voice, which church was for me.
The funniest thing about this whole story is that this was a church I
had been invited to in 1980, just a few months after leaving the old
faith. I had remembered the name of the church, and the fact that a
black woman had invited me to it. (I am white.)
I have been attending this church, Atlanta Christian Center, for over
12 years, and have continued to grow in God there.
God is good all the time.
